Meeting Notice
What to do
when someone dies
When someone dies, you need to contact a funeral home. The funeral home will help with any services you need and coordinate the burial with the cemetery.
What are the
options for burial?
Burial options include the deceased body in a casket or cremation of the body. One gravesite can accommodate four options: one casket, one cremains, one casket together with one cremains, or two cremains.
Can I
pre-plan a burial?
You can pre-plan by purchasing a gravesite at any time. You will be given a deed as proof of ownership at the time of purchase. The deed conveys ownership of the gravesite to the owner(s) and their heirs and assigns. The expense for burial cannot be prepaid. The fee for burial is paid at the time of the burial.

Notices
The next trimming day at the cemetery will be Saturday, September 10, 2022, with a rain date of September 17th. We will start at 8 am and finish by noon. If you would like to volunteer your time to help us trim throughout the cemetery, we could use all the help we can get. We have a limited number of weed trimmers available so it is helpful if you can bring your own trimmer to use. Thank you!

Prospect Hill Cemetery was chartered in 1854. Years ago visitors were welcomed by a beautiful Victorian Gateway over the entrance. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the cemetery was a gathering place for the living and the dead. People went to have picnics and honor the dead. The cemetery also contained a Victorian caretaker’s cottage in which Grand Army of the Republic Civil War veterans gathered before dedication ceremonies in their honor each year on Memorial Day.
The Cemetery is managed by volunteers, including the Board. Prospect Hill Cemetery is a nonprofit organization that welcomes donations at any time during the year. Checks can be mailed to Prospect Hill Cemetery Association PO Box 50, Guilderland, NY, 12084.
We run fundraising campaigns throughout the year, and this website will display notices. Contact us for more information.
